Humor for Writers – Toto’s Literary Agent

Toto’s father, a writer, slammed the phone with exasperation.

“Blasted answering machine!” he barked “Stupid agent never, ever answer his phone! Wish I could have him here.”

Just at that moment, Toto’s mother, a geneticist, comes in, smiling from ear to ear.

“We just crossed a fruit fly with a bee,” she beamed, “It’s called the fruity bee and will make honey from apples, yummy!”

“Mum,” said Toto, from under the quilt, raising his head from the spy novel he was read, “Could you cross an agent with a quilt?”

“What a weird idea,” said Mum, “Why on earth would I want to do that?”

“So we could have an undercover agent Dad could always find under the cover when he needs him,” answered Toto.
