Humor for Writers – The Muted Muse
John is one of the world’s greatest writer and is also quite gifted as a hypochondriac.
His muse is always talking to him at the most inopportune time so he gets his doctor to diagnose him as schizophrenic and begins adding antipsychotics to his daily regimen of pills.
A few weeks later, he goes back to his doctor and says, with a worried look on his face, “Doctor, you must help me.”
“How can I do that, Isaac?” asks the doctor calmly.
“Do you remember those voices in my head I’ve been complaining about?” says John.
“Yes of course,” replies the doctor.
“Well,” says John, “they’ve suddenly gone away.”
“So what’s the problem then?” asks the doctor.
“I think I’m going deaf,” replies John.
