Humor for Writers – John Storywriter’s Wife Fights Gossiping

By Patricia de Hemricourt

Miriam, John Storywriter wannabe writer’s wife, is talking to her friend Estelle about her neighbor.

“You should hear what she regularly says about her husband, poor guy. She never has a good word to say about him. And do you know what, Estelle? He’s really not such a bad man.” she said.

“I mean look at me” she continues, all flustered at her irritation about her neighbor’s badmouthing  “My John, the darling boy,  may be a fat, lazy slob and cheap as they come. And to top it all,  he still believes the time he spends typing platitudes between two visits down the pub will turn him into the new Stephen King .” she smirked before concluding forcefully. ” But have you ever heard me say a bad word about him?”
