For decades, John Storywriter has been writing. For decades, he has collected rejection letters from various literary agents and publishers. For years, he has been waiting to start his life as a writer and live from his pen.
That morning, as he is about to leave for his day job as a waiter in the local eatery, the doorbell rings. At the door stands a census taker.
“Does John Storywriter live here?” he asks.
“No,” replies John Storywriter.
“Well, then, what is your name?”
” John Storywriter.”
“Wait a minute–didn’t you just tell me that John Storywriter doesn’t live here?”
“Aha,” says John Storywriter. “You call this living?”
