Humor for Writers – Writer Going Green
By Patricia de Hemricourt
John Storywriter and two of his neighbors are debating what they could personally do to reduce global warming.
“I think my best bet is to green my house” says the Mark, an engineer. “Solar panels, insulation etc., you know…”
“Of course, you can do that, easily, you’ve got the skills. Me, it would cost me too much,” answers Jack, the other neighbor, stuck in a clerical job with low pay. “Can’t afford to do that. What I could do, though, is to switch from driving to work to biking to the train station and leave the car at home. Might even benefit my health actually, and with the constant rise in petrol price, it would also save me a bunch” he smirked.
“I guess my best bet is to forget about finding a publisher and self-publish on Amazon and such,” says John.
The two others burst out laughing. “What, all your books that never got printed will still not get printed? How does that make any difference?”
“Oh no, not at all,” shrugs John. “I was thinking of the realms of paper wasted in rejection letters that would be saved.”
